Founder
Founder and CEO of Hanson Robotics. Creator of Sophia. Author of two books, including "Humanizing Robots," and holder of several patents. He has also received awards from NASA, NSF, Tech Titans' Innovator of the Year, RISD, Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial, and in 2005, he was awarded by AAAI for open interaction with artificial intelligence systems. Hanson holds a Ph.D. in Arts and Interactive Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a BFA in Video Animation from the Rhode Island School of Design. David is developing the Sophia project, seeing great opportunities for humanity in combining human capabilities with AI.
